Open Architecture Design
Over the past 18 years our team has built several MOSA SDR systems that do multi-mission EW, SIGINT, COMMS, and DF. Our efforts in open architecture design continues with 6+ Government/Spectranetix multi-Service SIGINT/EW/SDR Programs.
Spectranetix has been involved since the very early stages of the U.S. Army CMOSS standard as well as the The Open Group’s Sensor Open Systems Architecture™ technical standard and we are a trusted partner to the DoD. In particular we are designing and manufacturing several CMOSS/SOSA™ aligned systems. This includes the backplane, chassis, payload cards, and all VICTORY/MORA software necessary to integrate to radio heads, PNT modules, transceiver modules, and power amplifiers. In addition to these efforts we are also supporting CMOSS development with several other Science & Technology and Program Management organizations across the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Prime Contractors.
C4ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) is a suite of standards to support the reduction of the size, weight and power of C4ISR and EW systems while increasing the flexibility and adaptability of these systems. The CMOSS standards normalize the software, functional, hardware and network layers of system components so that any vendors current and future CMOSS card or unit can be easily integrated into existing CMOSS unit/system. This eliminates the issues with stove piped systems and vendor lock. The flexibility and adaptability of an open architecture allows for faster and more frequent upgrades so that capabilities can pace the threat.
SOSA is a series of modular open systems architecture specifications for a variety of Multi-INT C4ISR platforms that crosses services and platform environment. SOSA is complimentary effort that functions seamlessly with The U.S. Air Force’s FACE and OMS. Army CMOSS technologies feed up into the The Open Group’s SOSA technical standard, they have the same hardware pinouts and same data transport software protocols. Also leveraged is the Navy’s HOST effort, which makes SOSA a truly Joint Standard.

Research & Development
Over 17 years experience developing solutions for moderate to complex problems for the DOD, Government Agencies and Prime Contractors. Our core competence is in the Advanced Research & Development on New EW/C4ISR Technologies and our agility makes us adept at QRC Design and Fast Prototype Manufacturing for Risk Reduction on Programs and meeting rapid fielding needs. We work closely with customers on problem definition, concept development, bread boarding and prototyping. We perform research, analysis and testing at our State-of-the-art RF design laboratory with capabilities up to 110 GHz. We have a large engineering staff of systems, hardware and software engineers dedicated to research and development activities.
Extensive design experience from HF to Millimeter Wave for detection, monitoring and direction finding antenna systems for air, ground and shipboard applications.
Capabilities include the design, manufacture and test of individual antenna elements through fully integrated antenna systems and radio heads. Comprehensive antenna testing and verification facility that supports testing to 110 GHz.
